Visiting Educators Program

The School of Teaching ESL is able to provide short-term teacher training for visiting English language teachers, particularly international educators. Participants may choose to receive Seattle University credit (provided participants meet admission requirements) or may choose non-credit options.

Groups of up to 20 can be accommodated for specialized teacher education training. Short-term workshops (3-6 hours) or courses lasting from one to four weeks are available. Programs can be tailored to specific group needs.

Participating in a Visiting Educators Program

If you are interested in such a program, please contact Director Bernice Ege-Zavala at bezavala[at]seattleu.edu. Please include the following information:

  • number of expected participants
  • anticipated dates
  • background of the intended audience (incl. educational background and teaching experience)
  • desired content for the training

Please allow a minimum of three months for advance planning.

The School of TESL has also conducted professional development workshops for ESOL teachers in WA State and has hosted international educators for short-term workshops.
