TestimonialsIntensive graduates respond to the question: “If someone who was considering taking this course said, ‘Please describe the Intensive course for me’ what would you say?”“This class is an experience unlike any other academic endeavor. You will be asked to push yourself to new limits. You will be asked to learn more than you think you can, in less time than you think possible. You will work harder than you have ever worked before. And when you reach the end, you’ll realize that it was completely, totally, absolutely, worth it.” “You will be amazed by how much you learn in a relatively short period of time” “Everything you will learn will be applicable to your teaching career. You’ll have fun, trust me.” “Listen to the instructor, Bernice, and Kim when they give you advice. You’ll have fun, but you will work hard and you’ll be glad you took the class afterwards.” “Tiring. Thrilling. Perhaps most of all, I would say it is a tremendous confidence-builder.” “This course was demanding, well-organized, and extremely well taught.....It presents theory as well as many practical skills. Students receive much support and individual attention to be successful.” “If you learn by doing, this is the course for you.” “The workload will teach you whether you can handle teaching a class.” “I could not fathom teaching a class without the skills I learned at S-TESL and I will use the materials from the class for years to come.” Intensive graduates give advice...........“I commuted from Puyallup and spent three hours a day driving. It’s do-able, but if you have a long commute, you won’t have time to do anything else except homework.” “Lunches are working lunches so bring salad or some soup that can be heated and some fruit as a pick-me up for the afternoon.” “Be sure you have the willpower to set aside your life for a month to focus on your studies.” “Look at the ‘Is Intensive Right for Me?’ document and seriously ask yourself each of the questions and answer honestly. Don’t be frightened, just take them seriously and trust the process.” |
