The Intensive I
   

Intensive I (12 Credits) is designed for individuals who are able to study full-time for one month.

  • Classes meet from 9:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Friday for four weeks.
  • The four courses are: EPDES 930, 931, 932, and 933.
  • All four weeks must be taken as a unit.
  • Upon completion with a 3.0 GPA, students may apply for the Seattle University Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in TESOL.
Under certain guidelines, credits earned may be applied to the ELL Endorsement and/or protected for graduate status.

Is Intensive Right For Me?

When considering an Intensive format, thinking about the following statements may help you determine if this format suits you:
  • I am in good mental and physical health.
  • I like a fast-paced environment.
  • I will not be working during the time I intend to study in an intensive class.
  • I have good organizational skills (including time management).
  • I can remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
  • I have reliable access to a computer and printer, and have basic computer skills.
  • I have the support of my family and/or friends.
  • I am able to attend evening observations as required.
  • I am able to commit to the full four-week schedule, which requires being in class from 9:00 until 3:00 daily.
  • I understand that there are from three to six hours of required homework each day (including weekends).
